CVER in Norway: Dr. Wayne Martin (U. of Guelph) assisting in one of the laboratory sessions
For the last 24 years NOVA (Nordic Veterinary and Agricultural University Network) has sponsored graduate level training in veterinary epidemiolgoy in the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark).
This program has evolved over the years but for about the last 10 years has consisted of 2 training modules (offered in alternate years) that have been taught by Dr. Ian Dohoo (CVER) and Dr. Wayne Martin (U. of Guelph). This final offering in this series was organized by Dr. Rolf Larseen of The Norwegian Veterinary School (with capable assistance from Drs. Camilla Keilland and Solveig Marie Stubsjoen). Thirty seven participants from the Nordic countries spent 10 days immersed in advanced veterinary epidemiolgy at a course centre in Biri, Norway. (Most of the particpants had participated in an introductory level course in Tune, Denmark in 2007). While this series of courses is being wrapped up, NOVA will continue to sponsor advanced training in veterinary epidemiolgy and we look forward to CVER being able to continue to contribute to this effort.
