AVC animal welfare expert speaks to veterinary students across Canada

Dr. Alice Crook, coordinator of AVC's Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre, recently traveled to the four English Canadian veterinary colleges to give the first talks in the Animal Welfare Lecture Tour organized for veterinary students by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). Dr. Crook spoke at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary, the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph and the Atlantic Veterinary College about animal abuse and what veterinarians need to know in recognizing, documenting, and reporting animal abuse and neglect. The lecture tour was co-sponsored by Hagen.
