After completing a PhD at AVC’s Department of Pathology and Microbiology, Dr. Sarah Stewart-Clark accepted an Innovation PEI Fellowship position at AVC.
Dr. Stewart-Clark will conduct her post-doctoral research with Dr. Spencer Greenwood, Department of Pathology and Microbiology, and Dr. Jeff Davidson, Department of Health Management, using a new innovative device to assess the impact of tunicate fouling and mitigation treatments on mussel health. PEI mussels are world-renowned as a quality product, and Dr. Stewart-Clark is excited that her research will help contribute to the innovative science that the AVC Shellfish Health Group conducts in support of this industry.
“I am extremely proud to have conducted my PhD at AVC and feel that the research experiences and opportunities that I gained through my graduate program have prepared me to become an innovative researcher in the international research community,” says Dr. Stewart-Clark.
She has also recently been appointed Associate Editor of the journal Aquatic Invasions, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original research and review articles about biological invasions in both inland and coastal waters. Dr. Stewart-Clark is currently the only Canadian scientist on the editorial board of this journal. More information on the journal is available here.
