CVER hosted the Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Association of
Veterinary Epidemiolgoy and Preventative Medicine (CAVEPM) at UPEI at
the end of May. Over 60 participants from across North America and as
far away as Switzerland, Finland and the United Kingdom were in
attendance. Dr. John VanLeeuwen (President- CAVEPM) was primarily
responsible for the meeting with the logistics being looked after by
CVER's Tracey Gairns-Brioux. The meeting was one of the largest
scientific meetings of CAVEPM with 31 oral presentations- many in the
theme areas for the meeting (systematic reviews and disease
modelling)-along with a dozen poster presentations. Next year's meeting
will be held in Guelph, Ontario and co-hosted by the Public Health
Agency of Canada and the University of Guelph.
