The CVER group would like to extend congratulations to Professors Larry Hammell and John VanLeeuwen, as recipients of the 2013 Presidential Recognition Awards of Merit for UPEI Faculty, Librarians and Staff.
They were presented with their awards by President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, during the "Celebration of Colleagues" on May 6th, 2013.
The Presidential Recognition Awards of Merit for Faculty and Librarians are granted annually for exceptional academic achievements. The awards focus on achievements made in the previous calendar year (2012). Both Drs. Hammell & VanLeeuwen received awards for Scholarly Endeavors. Clearly superior scholarly endeavors are those recognized at national and international levels, considering both quality and quantity of their contributions.
Drs. Hammell & VanLeeuwen were 2 of the 5 faculty members to receive the award for Scholarly Endeavours.
Interestingly enough, Dr. VanLeeuwen's spouse Charlene VanLeeuwen, Sessional Instructor and Field Placement Coordinator, Applied Human Sciences, was also presented with a Presidential Recognition Award of Merit for Teaching. Congratulations, Charlene!
