“Florida’s Aquarium Fish Industry: A Steamy Look at Production and Health in the South” Presentation at 10:00 am April 5th

CVER is pleased to host Dr. Roy P. E. Yanong, VMD, Associate Professor, Extension Veterinarian, Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory University of Florida, for a presentation Thursday, April 5th at 10:00 am, in The McCain Foundation Learning Commons, AVC.

Dr. Yanong will give a presentation entitled: “Florida’s Aquarium Fish Industry: A Steamy Look at Production and Health in the South”.

Florida’s tropical fish farmers raise hundreds of freshwater and marine species for the aquarium hobby, using a variety of production methods. Species’ biological differences and similarities dictate requirements and help predict disease concerns. Although the University of Florida has provided production and health management outreach and research since the late 1980s, challenges still abound!

Dr. Roy Yanong, associate professor and extension veterinarian based at UF’s Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory in Ruskin, will provide an overview of Florida’s industry and highlight some of the fascinating challenges in production and health.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
