In January 2014, Dr. Raphael Vanderstichel joined the CERC team as a Research Scientist. As a quantitative veterinary epidemiologist, Raph brings experience and knowledge in disease surveillance and spatial epidemiology. He has previously collaborated with the salmon industry in Chile, working on disease surveillance with their team in the INTESAL-SalmonChile research institute. Currently he is working on projects with both Government and Industry in British Columbia and the East Coast of Canada to investigate transmission patterns of finfish pathogens through the movement of water and migrating wild fish stocks. In addition to working with finfish and the aquaculture industry in Canada, he will be involved with the lobster fishing industry in the East Coast to identify environmental factors associated with the quality and health of lobsters. Raph is very glad to have joined the CERC team and looks forward to future challenges and opportunities in aquatic health epidemiology. CVER and CERC are equally excited to have Raph working with us!
