A truly international group gathered at UPEI for Epi‑on‑the‑Island between July 5th and 14th.
Countries represented in the participant list included: Canada, USA, Norway, Taiwan, Singapore, New Zealand, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Irreland, Austria, Bolivia and Bhutan. From July 5th to 8th, Drs. Dirk Pfeiffer (Royal Vet. College ‑ London) and Javier Sanchez (UPEI) ran a course on managing and analyzing spatila data using open source software. The 2nd course (July 10th to 14th) was an introduction to multilevel modelling and was taught by Drs. Henrik Stryhn (UPEI) and Ian Dohoo (UPEI). Epi‑on‑the‑Island is an annual program offered by CVER (Centre for Veterinary Epidemiological Research) to provide instruction in advanced methods in veterinary epidemiology.
