Janet Bryanton of UPEI Receives Natinonal Award from Prime Minister Harper

Janet Bryanton, Associate Professor for the Department of Nursing at UPEI recently received the Nurse to Know- Centennial Achievement Award as part of CNA's 100th year celebrations. Janet, one of 14 nurses across Canada to receive the award, was noted for her contribution to maternal and child health promotion, research and education. She was nominated by the Canadian Nurses Association and chosen by the Prime Minister's Office. Janet graduated with her PhD in Nursing from McGill in May 2007. Her thesis title was "Perception of the Birth Experience and its Relationship to Early Postpartum Parenting." She is currently the course coordinator for nursing research, nursing of childbearing families and the clinical instructor for integrated clinical experience.
