Matt Saab wins award at CAVEPM

Four graduate students from the Department of Health Management attended the CAVEPM 2013 Conference in Saskatoon, SK, last week, and delivered presentations.

CVER would like to congratulate Matthew Saab (MSc student/supervisor Dr. J McClure), who won second prize for graduate student presentations for his oral presentation “Selective medium increases apparent prevalence of extended-spectrum cephalosporin resistant Escherichia coli in Canadian swine herds”.

Omid Nekouei (MSc student/supervisor Dr. Greg Keefe) presented his work “Herd-level risk factors of infection with bovine leukemia virus in Canadian dairy farms”.

Ibrahim Elsohaby (PhD student/supervisor Dr. Greg Keefe) presented his work “Measurement of bovine serum immunoglobulin G concentrations using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy”.

Julian Reyes (PhD student/supervisor Dr. Greg Keefe) presented his work “Molecular epidemiology of Streptococcus agalactiae strains isolated from dairy herds in 7 municipalities of Antioquia, Columbia”.
