CVER is pleased to announce that two of our PhD Students, Dr. Sithar Dorjee & Dr. Thitiwan “Poo” Patanasatienkul , have been selected as two of the 20 candidates to receive an ISVEE bursary.
The 13th CONFERENCE of the International Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics (ISVEE XIII) will be held from 20 - 24 August 2012 in the city of Maastricht, close to the border of the Netherlands and Belgium.
Receipt of these bursaries is a major accomplishment as the committee received no less than 117 applications!
Their bursaries will cover the cost of the conference registration fee, including meals and opening reception, and 5 nights’ accommodation.
During the conference, Sithar will present 3 posters, as follows:
1. One-Health Simulation Modeling of Pandemic Influenza H1N1 2009 Spread between Humans and Animals
2. Agent-based models for assessing the effects of heterogeneity of network structures for spread of influenza H1N1 2009 virus in swine
3. Characteristics of swine shipments networks in southwestern Ontario, Canada
And
Poo will deliver an oral presentation entitled:
“A Mathematical Model for Evaluating Mitigation Strategies of Biofouling Ciona intestinalis in Prince Edward Island, Canada".
