The Animal Determinants of Emerging Disease (ADED) teleconferences are interdisciplinary and a way of linking public health professionals internationally to provide information on a variety of topics pertinent to global emergence of zoonotic diseases. The conferences occur monthly on the third Tuesday of the month during the academic year (September-April). Everyone is welcome.

Rita Finley, is the Senior Epidemiologist with the Enteric Surveillance Division of the Centre for Food-borne, Environmental and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases of PHAC. Rita studied at the University of Guelph where she received her BSc in Statistics and MSc in Epidemiology. She currently leads the human component of the Canadian Integrated Program for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (CIPARS) monitoring antimicrobial resistance in enteric bacteria as well as human antimicrobial use in Canada. Her main areas of interest are antimicrobial resistance and its impact on human health, zoonosis, and companion animals.
