Epi on the Island Annual Conference

This world-renowned 2-part course is hosted annually at the Atlantic Veterinary College.

A successful program, which has been running for a number of years, brings researchers and graduate students from across Canada and around the world to UPEI for intensive course work in epidemiologic methods.

In 2008, we held this event in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, which we hosted at AVC.

In 2009, participants from across Canada and Portugal, Denmark, Belgium and Norway attended a course on course in multilevel modelling, instructed by Drs. Henrik Stryhn and Ian Dohoo.

In 2010, the conference was hosted from August 10–13. The first part was a 5-day workshop run by Dr. Francisco Zagmutt who focused on risk analysis. The second portion was a 4-day workshop taught by Dr. Evan Sargeant who lectured on surveillance.
