Marit LystadMarit Lystad,  a PhD student from Oslo, Norway will be working in Health Management at the AVC starting June 22nd until July 3rd.

It is with great sadness that CVER will be saying goodbye to our epidemiology technician, Jon Smith in early August.

Dr. Ian Dohoo, the Director of CVER has recently been appointed to the Council of Canadian Academies Expert Panel on Risk Assessment in Animal Health.

CVER grad student, Raphael Vanderstichel's abstract for the 12th International Symposium on Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics has been selected as one of the top 10 papers submitted.

CVER's research programs have continued to grow and expand, and although it is impossible to capture them all, we have highlighted several new research activities spearheaded by CVER members.

Elmabrok Masaoud recently defended his PhD thesis titled: Hierarchical statistical models for discrete repeated measures data in veterinary science.

Dr. Larry Hammell of CVER and Aquatic Health Sciences was recently awarded the 2008-2009 Merit Award for Scholarly Achievement.

The Atlantic Veterinary College will be saying good bye to Dr. Aboubakar Mounchili in late spring 2009. 

Charlottetown, PE--The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is proud to learn that it has successfully entered Phase 2 of a national competition for funding under the newly created Canada Excellence Research Chairs program.

Dr. Kristen Reyher of CVER has been awarded a prestigious NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship in support of her graduate program.

Annie Wagener, Nicole Lewis, and Raphael Vanderstichel of CVER will be judges at the Montague Regional High school Science Fair on March 9th, 2009. 

Glen DuizerDr. Glen Duizer (AVC 1995) has recently joined CVER as a graduate student in epidemiology.
