Centre for Aquatic Health Science MSc. Graduate student Peter Sykes was recently awarded a 2008 Ireland Canada University Foundation (ICUF)scholarship to travel to Ireland to study "Applied health and productivitymonitoring of emerging marine aquaculture species of interest to Canada and Ireland" at The Martin Ryan Institute of the National University of Ireland Galway.

The Shellfish Research group has established a Portable Aquatics Laboratory (PAL) that can be situtated near estuaries to study treatment strategies for the mitigation of aquatic invasive species.
